Lower My Golf Score : Lessons

How to Lower My Golf Score, here are some tips from a fellow golfer on how lessons can help to lower my golf score:

The Problem:  I played for a whole year after my return to golf, I enjoyed being back, but I was frustrated that I wasnt getting any better. I was getting annoyed on the course, as my shots were inconsistent, I was losing balls and falling out of love with the game that was meant to be fun.

The Outcome: I had a lesson with a PGA professional bought for me for my birthday, in addition a subscription to some online coaching. The PGA professional focussed on my swing in the first lesson. There were some good things with my swing, but a few tweaks in terms of where I put feet, he helped me create a routine. It took a few weeks of practice and building establishing the routine, but the results were great. Finally I was now able to hit a Driver consistently, something I'd not been able to do before.  The outcome was my shots dropped down from 24 to around 20 over the summer period. The online lessons and guidance were also brilliant in helping me understand techniques and course management. Together these have helped me reduce my handicap down to 18.

I realised that a coach, whether in person or online can give structure to your practice and help you measure progress more effectively than trying to fix things on your own. Seek one out today.

Why do I need to focus on this: Professional guidance helps identify and correct swing faults faster than trial-and-error.

Simple Tip: Book a few in-person lessons with a local PGA coach for hands-on feedback and real-time adjustments. If access is limited or you’re on a budget, online lessons are a great alternative, many platforms let you send swing videos and receive personalized drills and analysis. Online coaching is also ideal for working on specific issues between rounds.

Have you been frustrated with your game lately, are you getting annoyed on the course and frustrated afterwards. You know you can play better than this.

Are you inconsistent, one hole you can hit the ball miles, then next hole its into the bushes barely 10 feet from the tee. Do you look envious at the others in you group thinking why can’t I do that, they make it look so easy.

Then I know how you feel and let me share some of my journey with you.

Hi I’m Rich and I’m happy to share my golf tips with you. I’m a bogey handicapper (That’s 18 for you who didn’t know). I took up golf not that long ago after a long absence to spend more time with my children and being Dads Taxi taking them from one activity to the next.  I started back at 27, but after applying these tips I’m not down to 18.
